The Protection and Social Rehabilitation Centre (AMAN), which works under the umbrella of Qatar Foundation for Social Network, is carrying on its endeavors to brief children about “Help” mobile app, the first online service enabling them to ask for help using their cell phones when subject to any harm.
 

An orientation pavilion that is moved across several shopping malls has been allocated to introduce the service during the weekend and the summer time. This will be the second launch at Qatar Mall near to the Games area, as the beginning was in May at Tawar Mall on the occasion of the Child Helpline day in accordance with the human rights and with the legally comply of the international conventions ratified by the State of Qatar and the role of civil society organizations in their implementation. The purpose of this application is to provide assistance to the child and to provide the necessary protection through which the child can report his or her abuse or violence, whether verbal or physical, such as beating or sexual harassment or restriction of freedom such as imprisonment,

The child may request assistance by writing the text of his problem, recording it in audio or documenting it with pictures, or he may simply choose an image that expresses his

problem, from the images provided by the application,

The service can be easily downloaded through electronic stores such as Apple Store and other mobile devices or other smart devices such as the iPad, then communication with the child would be done through simple data such as his phone number or name, school name and age.

Requests for assistance are received by a specialized team, qualified staff with the required mechanisms to deal with any incoming communications either through “Help me” application or via Hotline (919), which is addicted to receive any complaints or communications of this type.​
